What is expected from parents?

TITAN Volleyball Club knows that parents play an important role in the success of our Club and are seen as an addition to our program.

TITAN   requires parents to volunteer within the team. Parents are needed for:

  • team managers

  • parent reps

  • game scorekeepers and line judges

  •

When we attend tournaments, we require our team to stay at the venue during the tournament day to encourage team bonding. We ask our Team 'Parent' Mgr to  set up a “potluck” where parents are encouraged to contribute so that the Coaches and players have food / drinks during all tournaments. Athletes with food allergies must ensure the team is made aware of the allergen so it can be taken into consideration.

TITAN Volleyball Club strives for encouraging and supportive parents to help make the season run smoothly

Playing competitive volleyball as a youth offers numerous benefits that contribute to both physical and personal development:

  1. Physical Fitness: Volleyball is an excellent form of exercise that promotes cardiovascular health, strength, agility, and coordination. Regular participation in competitive matches helps youth maintain a healthy weight, build strong muscles and bones, and develop overall physical fitness.

  2. Motor Skills Development: Volleyball requires precise movements such as serving, passing, setting, spiking, and blocking, which help improve hand-eye coordination, footwork, and spatial awareness in youth players. These skills are not only essential for volleyball but also transferable to other sports and activities.

  3. Teamwork and Communication Skills: Playing competitive volleyball teaches youth the importance of teamwork, communication, and cooperation. They learn to work together with their teammates, communicate effectively on the court, and trust each other, fostering valuable social skills and interpersonal relationships.

  4. Discipline and Time Management: Youth involved in competitive volleyball must balance their academic responsibilities with training sessions, practices, and matches. This helps them develop discipline, time management skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively, which are crucial for academic success and future endeavors.

  5. Resilience and Mental Toughness: Competitive volleyball can be mentally challenging, requiring youth players to stay focused, resilient, and composed, especially during high-pressure situations. Facing setbacks, losses, and challenges on the court teaches them to bounce back, persevere, and develop mental toughness, which is beneficial both in sports and in life.

  6. Goal Setting and Achievement: Youth involved in competitive volleyball often set goals for themselves individually and as a team. Whether it's improving their skills, winning matches, or achieving specific milestones, setting and working towards goals instills a sense of purpose, motivation, and accomplishment in young athletes.

  7. Social Development and Friendship: Volleyball provides youth with opportunities to meet new people, make friends, and build social connections. They develop friendships with their teammates, coaches, and opponents, fostering a sense of camaraderie, belonging, and support that contributes to positive social development and emotional well-being.

  8. Healthy Lifestyle Habits: Engaging in competitive volleyball encourages youth to adopt healthy lifestyle habits such as regular exercise, proper nutrition, adequate rest, and avoiding harmful substances. These habits promote physical health, mental well-being, and overall quality of life.
